Team

Team in the sidebar is everyone who can sign in to your organization and what they are allowed to do. From it you invite someone, add a person who already has an account, change a role, cancel an invitation, and remove someone who has left.

A team member is a person with a login. A directory entry is a person calls route to, and most of them never sign in. They are separate lists on separate pages: adding someone to the team does not make calls reach them, and adding them to the directory does not give them a login. If you are looking for who a call rings, you want the directory.

Invite creates an invitation at a role of your choosing, in one of two shapes:

  • Send an email. Enter their address and we email them a link. Their address is prefilled when they open it.
  • Share a link. We create a link for you to pass on however you like. It works for seven days, for anyone who has it, so share it deliberately.

Either link opens the join page, where they create an account (name, email, password) or join as an account they already have. They arrive on the team with the role you chose.

Open invitations are listed under Invitations with their kind, role and status (Invited, Accepted, Expired, Cancelled). Cancel an invitation while it is open and the link stops working. Creating, cancelling and accepting invitations are all recorded in the audit trail.

Add Member takes the email address of an existing Care Connect account and a role, and adds them straight away with no invitation. For someone without an account, use Invite.

Change a role from the roster and it applies to the person directly. What each role can do, at the top of the page, shows the full grid: every permission down the side, every role across the top. The rules for which roles you may hand out are in Roles and permissions; a refused change says why, most often that the role is above your own or that it would leave the organization without an Owner.

Removing a member ends their access to this organization. It does not delete their account and it does not touch their membership of any other organization. You cannot remove someone who outranks you, and you cannot remove the last Owner: to step down, make someone else an Owner first.

Inviting, adding, changing roles and removing all need Admin or Owner. Everyone else can see the roster; the buttons are simply not shown to them.
