Compliance on a line is what the carrier requires before the number is fully usable for calls and texts. Neither part blocks routing; both are needed before a real practice should put the number on its door.

E911 emergency address

Emergency services use the address registered to a number when a call to 911 is made from it. Every line needs one.

The form starts filled in from the organization’s address under General details: the name at the address, street, suite, city, state, postal code and country (United States or Canada). Save draft keeps it for this line; Submit to provider registers it with the carrier, and the line shows when it was submitted and its standing from then on: Registered, Pending, or a failure with the reason. The form tells you what is still needed before it can be submitted.

Change the address when the line moves, not before: a registered address is what an ambulance is sent to.

Messaging registration (10DLC)

US carriers require every business that texts from a local number to register who it is (the brand) and what it sends (the campaign). Without it, texts from the number are filtered or refused. The registration is the organization’s and covers every line, so what you enter here is shared with the other numbers.

Three parts:

• The business. Legal name, business type, EIN, industry, website.
• Authorized representative. The person the carrier may contact about the registration.
• The campaign. The use case, what the messages are for, how people opt in, one or two sample messages, and whether messages include links or phone numbers. For a practice the honest answer is usually customer care: replies to patients who text the on-call line, and reminders.

Save draft keeps what you have entered. The Brand and Campaign standing shown at the top (Unregistered, Pending, Approved, or failed) is read from the carrier, so a registration made directly in its console shows here too.
